We are a Coronavirus pod of kids from Richmond, Virginia on a mission to bring smiles to our community. When we heard that Assisted Living/Nursing Home residents couldn’t have visitors during Coronavirus, we wanted to cheer them up so Butterflies 4 Smiles was born (or should we say hatched)! With hard work and dedication, we turn coffee filters, clothespins and pipe cleaners into beautiful butterflies. Each colorful butterfly is different and guaranteed to bring a smile.
Butterflies 4 Smiles has donated thousands of butterflies to residents of Assisted Living/Nursing Homes, patients at local hospitals, Feed More Meals on Wheels, local church food pantries, The Salvation Army Angel Tree Silver Bells Program and UGK Community First.
We also want to inspire others to make butterflies for their communities, bringing smiles to people around the country and the world! We’ve posted a list of needed supplies, step by step instructions and a video so others can join in the fun! If you’d like to make butterflies for your community, go to our Making Butterflies page for step by step instructions and information. Besure to let us know you’re Joining the Cause and please send pictures so we can post them on our website!
We hope that many of you will join in the fun and bring smiles to your community, one butterfly at a time!
